Explore the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, the most important reserve of Perú with its 2 million hectares. Known as one of the richest areas in biodiversity of the world, it is home of more than 250 species of fish, 130 mammals, 450 birds and 250 reptiles and amphibians in their abundant vegetation and its different colors of water! A summary of the Amazon to discover on board ARAPAIMA EXPEDITIONS, for the lovers of the nature.
Program:
Embarking: Nauta / Disembarking: Iquitos
Day 1: Iquitos-City Tour (Nauta) – Arapaima Expeditions
Reception at the Airport / Hotel by our guide, transfer by bus to our private Nauta jetty, before boarding, we will make a city tour to the town of Nauta: we will visit Mercado, Sapi Sapi Lagoon where you will observe the largest fish in the world of Fresh water and main square.
12:00 pm, we will proceed to board the Arapaima, where you will be received with a cocktail and accommodation in your rooms, accompanied by our staff.
Presentation with the Director of the cruise and the crew, then we will proceed to conduct talks with the on-board guides who will be in charge of informing about the facilities of the ship and the activities to be carried out on the days of your trip aboard the ship.
Safety is very important, so a safety and protection drill will be conducted to learn about the ship’s protocols.
1:00 pm, Lunch time to enjoy our common areas aboard the Arapaima.
3: 30 pm, We will board our skiff boat, towards the Pacaya-Samaria – Nauta Caño National Reserve to observe species of birds, monkeys, sloths, iguanas and much more wildlife that houses the reserve, we will also observe pink dolphins.
Night excursion to observe the Alligators, Night birds, Rodents such as the Ronsoco and other species of nocturnal wild animals that the Reserve houses.
7:00 pm, Return to the ship
8:00 pm, Dinner will be an experience for the palate, which will combine the freshest foods of the Amazon rainforest.
Dia 2: Pacaya Samiria Reserve – Ucayaly River
8:00 am, Buffet breakfast.
9:30 am, We will board our boat towards the Pacaya Samiria Reserve to observe types of ecosystems that we find, we will see different birds and a lot of wildlife such as, Tucanes, Parrots, Macaws, iguanas, sloths, monkeys in their natural habitat and other endemic animals of area. We will do a short walk through the swamps of the reserve that remain under the sewage for 6 months of the year.
12:00 pm, Return to the Ship.
1:00 pm, Buffet Lunch, time to enjoy our common areas aboard the Arapaima.
3:30 pm, Boat trip through one of the tributaries of the Ucayali River we will enjoy observing the primary jungle and wildlife of the area, we will make artisanal fishing of the famous piranhas.
Night excursion to observe the world of insects and reptiles that abound in the jungle, where you can feel the energetic vibration of the majesty of the Amazonian tropical forest.
7:00 pm, Return to the ship.
8:00 pm, Dinner will be an experience for the palate, Relax in the common areas of the boat.
Day 3: Pacaya Samiria Reserve
06:00 am, Buffet breakfast.
7:00 am, Boat trip to the Pacaya River to observe pink and gray dolphins, monkeys, birds, sloths and a great biodiversity of wildlife offered by the Amazon rainforest. Kayak sailing and experience being close to the waters of the Amazon and swimming close to the pink dolphins will be a unique and unforgettable experience.
Lunch camping style accompanied by beautiful landscapes that the Pacaya Samiria Reserve gives us.
3:00 pm, Return to the boat and continue sailing on the Ucayali River.
8:00 pm. Dinner on board the ship.
Day 4: Excursion
8:00 am, Buffet breakfast.
9:30 am, We will visit the town where we will learn about their culture, customs, way of life, etc.
12:00 pm, Return to the ship.
1:00 pm, Buffet lunch.
3:30 pm, Boat trip in search of wildlife, will be part of the spectacular and beautiful Amazonian sunset, on board the boat we will make the Champagne Toast as a thank you to the beautiful Reserve for everything lived and experienced during the excursions that took place day to day.
6:00 pm, Return to the ship.
7:00 pm, Relax in the common areas of the boat
8:00 pm, Dinner
After dinner there will be a farewell party with the Arapaima Musical Band.
Day 5: Iquitos – Amazon Manatee – Apto
8:00 am, Buffet Breakfast.
9:30 am, Disembark at the port of the city of Iquitos.
We will visit the Amazon Manatee Rescue Center where we will learn about the great work done by the Center in the Conservation and Preservation of the Amazon Manatee.
Airport transfer.
