Our tour starts at 7:30. We leave the city of Chachapoyas towards the province of Luya, descend first to the valley of Utcubamba, emblematic place of this pre-Columbian civilization. When passing to the left margin of the Utcubamba, in the high part of the valley, the city of Lámud is located. We organize, making advance order, at a local restaurant for lunch. Another 30 minutes of transport takes us to the caves of Quiocta (2,700 meters above sea level). Once we get to the cave about 550 meters deep, we take time to appreciate the rock formations that land and water have left us through millions of years. Quiocta gives us the source of water and remains of the ancient inhabitants of Utcubamba, who found the cave, as well as how to communicate with their universal Mother, Earth. At the end of the tour in the cavern, we return to Lámud for traditional lunch. After we continue our trip to the town of Cruzpata and begin the 2 km walk to the Karajía sarcophagi (mules and muleteers optional service). Upon arrival in Karajía, our professional guide will show us around the site. We will learn about the religious beliefs of the Chachapoyas and other cultural factors that archeologists have discovered in recent years. We will conclude the tour with a sighting of the most popular sarcophagi and we will also discover others that intrigue visitors from all sides. At a convenient time, we start the trip back to Chachapoyas. The arrival time is from 6: 00-6: 30.
